Palm Zire 71

Palm Zire 71 Overview

Palm Zire 71

There are two version of the Palm Zire. The Palm Zire and the Palm Zire 71. The Zire is the low-end model, and the Zire 71 is a high-end model. This particular review is of the Zire 71. The Zire is reviewed separately.

The Palm Zire 71 is a vastly better product than the Zire, and they really don't deserve to share the name Zire. The Zire 71 is a quality product rich with features. It seems to be one of the few real successes that Palm has had in recent years.

The Zire 71 has a 320 X 320 color screen. It comes with 16 MB of memory and an expansion slot. The Zire 71 runs Palm OS version 5, and has some of the multimedia capabilities of more expensive models. This even includes a built-in camera that takes 640 X 480 pictures.

Palm Zire 71 Ratings

The Palm Zire 71 has received very good ratings. Of 227 votes on one web site, 92% recommended the Palm Zire 71. This is very good.

Professional Ratings: 7.7 out of 10 (3 reviews)

User Ratings: 8.6 out of 10 (67 reviews)

People who use the Palm Zire 71 seem to be very happy with it. Two of the most common complaints have been that the case is too clumsy and that the Zire 71 isn't Bluetooth compatible. If these are the main faults of the Zire 71, then it's in pretty good shape.
