The Palm Zire 21 is Palm's updated version of the original Palm Zire. The Zire
21 is still Palm's budget, entry-level model. It's meant to be an organizer and
not much more. But they've made some improvements of the original Zire, making
the Zire 21 a better value.
The Palm Zire 21 has a monochrome screen, 160 X 160 resolution. But it comes
with 8 MB of memory, which is more than the feeble 2 MB that you got with the
original Palm Zire. But like the original Zire, you can't add a memory card on.
Experts agree that the Palm Zire 21 is an improvement over the original Zire.
It has more memory, a faster processor, and it's running Palm OS 5.
Since the Palm Zire 21 is so new on the market, there aren't many reviews
available yet. In particular, there are no reviews or ratings from customers.
However, the few professional reviewiers that have written about it seem to
agree that it's nothing very special, but perfectly adequate for the budget market.
And they agree that the Zire 21 a definite improvement over the earlier Palm Zire.
Professional Ratings: 6.2 out of 10 (2 reviews)
User Ratings: None available
Although the ratings aren't especially high, this is probably just because
the Palm Zire 21 is so feature poor. No serious complaints have surfaced against
the Zire 21. The only notable criticisms are that the screen is monochrome and
there's no backlight.
